The Senior Management team, in close collaboration with the Human Resources Management team, has developed a shared organisational culture expressed through what we describe as our personnel philosophy. This philosophy is articulated through a number of guiding statements that define the beliefs, values, and behaviours that shape the way we work together within Wedoourbest.
We understand organisational culture as a social environment shaped by shared practices and collective understanding. It reflects our knowledge, ethical principles, legal responsibilities, customs, and the skills and habits that individuals acquire in order to contribute effectively to the mission of Wedoourbest.
Several key concepts guide this cultural framework. Work safety is fundamental, as we recognise that individuals must feel physically and psychologically secure in order to perform their responsibilities effectively. A safe working environment allows our colleagues to focus fully on the demanding yet meaningful task of supporting vulnerable children and young people.
Meaning is another important element of our culture. Every activity undertaken within Wedoourbest should be connected to a clear sense of purpose. Our work gains value through the positive difference it creates in the lives of the children and youth we support.
Impact represents the tangible outcomes of our work. Rather than focusing solely on activity, we aim to measure success by the real improvements achieved in wellbeing, opportunity, and stability for the young people we serve.
Engagement is equally essential. We seek to foster a culture where colleagues demonstrate personal commitment and responsibility for their work and for the collective success of the organisation. Engagement strengthens collaboration and reinforces the shared mission that unites our teams.
At the same time, structure and planning provide clarity and direction. Clear processes and well-organised planning enable the organisation to operate efficiently while ensuring that resources are used responsibly and effectively.
Dependability is a core expectation. Trust within the organisation depends on individuals fulfilling their responsibilities, respecting commitments, and delivering their work in a reliable and timely manner.
Leadership within Wedoourbest is understood as the ability to translate vision into reality. Leadership involves inspiring others, guiding collective efforts, and ensuring that organisational values are reflected in everyday decisions and actions.
Continuous evaluation forms an essential part of our work. By reflecting on our successes and challenges we are able to learn, adapt, and strengthen the effectiveness of our programmes.
The responsible management of workload is also critical. We strive to ensure that responsibilities are balanced in a manner that enables individuals to contribute effectively while maintaining their wellbeing and long-term engagement.
“The world’s children are one of the most precious values we have, and we simply can’t lose so many children and young people as it is the case today, so we do our best.”
